In short, I definitely recommend this game to others. Aside from the main game there are a variety of codes that enable you to do some pretty cool things, not the least of which being the ability to play as the two final boss characters, though only in two-player games. Overall this is probably one of the best games in the series at least as far as on the SNES. MK3 introduced 'Kombat Kodes' which were 6 digit codes entered at the VS screen in a two player game to modify gameplay, fight hidden characters or display certain text messages. In fact the effects are those self same ones from MK3, right down to the sound of blood hitting the ground. The impact sounds for punches and kicks, which I felt were somewhat lackluster in MK2, are much improved in MK3 and this game.
